This notice explains, for parents, carers and Guardians, how Circle247 handles the personal data of children who are Members. It follows the UK Children's Code (the Age Appropriate Design Code).
Who this is for
A Member can be a child. A Guardian who holds parental responsibility sets up the child's membership, gives consent, and manages the settings from the web.
What we collect about a child
- Their name and the circle they belong to.
- Their device location, to share with their inner circle, only with permission.
- SOS events they raise, so their Guardians can help.
- Basic device data needed to deliver alerts.
How we protect children by design
- We collect the minimum needed to keep a child safe, and nothing more.
- We never profile children, and we never show them adverts.
- We never sell children's data.
- Settings are private by default, and the child can see who is in their circle.
- Only a Guardian can mark an SOS as safe, so a frightened child cannot be pressured into cancelling their own alert.
Consent and control
A person with parental responsibility provides consent for a child Member and can review, change or withdraw it at any time, and can ask us to delete the child's data. Location permission can be turned off on the device whenever you wish.
Rights and contact

What Circle247 is
Circle247 is an app that helps the people who look after you know that you are okay. It sits quietly on a phone.
What we know about you
We know your name and who is in your circle. If you turn it on, we know where your phone is, so your circle can see you are safe. If you ever press for help, we keep a note of that so your grown-ups can come.
Things we promise
- We only keep what we need to help keep you safe.
- We never sell your information to anyone.
- We never show you adverts.
- Only a grown-up who looks after you can say an alert is safe, so no one can make you cancel it.
You are in charge
You can ask to see what we know about you, and you can ask us to delete it. You can turn off sharing your location on your phone whenever you want.
